Well the saga of the grant oil boiler continues. Been waiting since April for it to be delivered and it's at the merchants, been there since Sept 27th.

Had planned to fit it end of week, but weeks going to hell on roller skates.

Back story is oil combi out of kitchen and into courtyard. Boiler doesn't arrive as planned so I moved old boiler into courtyard, hooked it up, temporary shelter over it and the bleeding thing needed a control box and photocell to get it going.

Fast forward to the week of the 27th, customer tells me boilers arrived, plumb center still haven't let me know it's there but that's neither here nor there.

Customer upset I cant just drop everything and fit his boiler, I explained I would love to fit it as not had a bean off the job, but other work that was booked in would take precedence. After all he wanted the grant which created the hold up.

So I provisionally said week commencing 25th. Confirmed via email this morning that I'd had issues this week and would be dropping boiler off Sunday afternoon to fit Monday.

Customers response, not good enough, they're not there Monday so I will have no access to the house.

I blew my top, I started with I appreciate his frustration, explained his choice of boiler, neither of our fault regarding non availability and then weighed in with the lack of trust. I've done 2k worth of work already (not paid for) and expects me to fork out another 2.5k for the boiler (not paid for yet) but he wont leave me a key to refill system and heat test.
Told him I'll be there at 5 tonight to pick up materials and bits I'd left for the install and drop an invoice off for works completed.

Grrrrrrr.

Very true.

The blokes a retired vicar.

Hes confirmed he wont leave a key. I just said fine. Already spoke to plumb center to let it go if somebody needs it. I'll be having the control box and photocell back tonight as well if theres any argument about paying.

Just to update.

Surprisingly there was nobody home last night.

Email off him this morning. Querying my attitude, that the temp cover needs attention and I can fit it on Thursday when they return.

Responded whilst having my sandwich.
Covered no attitude, just factual, temp cover was just that, the slots gone, it will be mid december if he let's me know in the next couple of days or next year, laid on thick about the lack of trust, told him I will be doing no further work on site until my invoice for works to date is paid in full and have a nice day.

I always thought the clergy were jumped up tw@ts.

I have a kitchen to strip and replace for a vicar i was due to go there this afternoon for a site visit guess what nobody in 🤬 called them oh sorry I'm away till Monday next week could you come then errr no I'll see you when I start the job please be home . Kop

Many years ago i was working a Sunday job and mistakenly parked in a spot which beloged to a church next door to where i was working.
The people from the church deliberately blocked me in and wouldn't let me out as their service was in full swing, they told me id have to wait.
It was only by storming in to the middle of the service, during the singing and clapping that i made myself enough of a nuisance that they let me go.
I'll never forget it.
Hope you get it sorted Simon. 👍
