Hi guys
I was after some advice on fitting 2 50 gallon cwsc in the loft.
I know that you need to link them with 28mm pipe, feed and overflow fitted in first tank and cold feed/cold distribution pipe out of second cwsc.

The main question I have is that the current system is a direct cold water system(25 gallon cwsc).I have to fit the 2 50 gallon tanks for system requirements for pumped shower system 2 bar salamander pump.I'm a bit worried about the weight of the water in the tanks(440 kgs) on the structure. All I can say is that its a relatively modern house with dry lining. The tanks need to be a minimum of 600mm above the pipes I'm going to fit to allow flow sensors to switch the pump on.What would be a recommended way of acheiving this(also by keeping weight of supporting structure to a minimum). The ceiling rafters are 75mm.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated as I'm new to this and I want to do it correctly

Hi It important to get it right, sound like a newish place. Phone up a local roof truss manufacturer, they may well have data regarding structural loads allowed, and how to achieve your aim. Good Luck

you need to spread the weight over as many joists as possible and if possible get the wieght over a wall possibly cofin tanks would help spread the load as well some 4x2s on edge cross the loft may be advisable i you can keep it all over the center wall this will pass the load to the joists below

75mm by what, if 225mm great but if 50mm as I suspect,
then they need to be bigger.

dont forget to cut the hot supply hole higher than the cold.

Cheers for your help lads:)
