Cylinder thermostat the wrong way round?

Hi,

The thermostat attached to my HW cylinder seems the wrong way round, i.e. when I turn the dial to 0 it heats to 70 and when turned to 70 the water doesn't heat up.

Is this a case of internal wiring being the wrong way around?

It's been like that since installed, never caused a problem but seems wrong.

Sounds like an internal wiring issue to me.

Sounds like valve, boiler feed are fed off the satisfied terminal. The only thing governing the HW temperature will be whatever the boiler thermostat is set to and ofcourse there will be no thermostatic control over the valve and boiler, meaning lots of boiler cycling.
If I'm right it should be a case of swapping one wire over in the cylinder thermostat.
