Never fitted a vented stainless steel cylinder but can't see why not to if you can get cheaper than copper

i have never fitted one too , just waiting on conformation on a job and thinking cold I fit one of them as I did not specify to client of the make of the cylinder ,and they have not asked for copper ! But will sent them e mail letting them know what they will get !

Cylinders a cylinder, if it's got the same gaurantee as the copper, same size and connections as the copper and cheaper than the copper then it's worth a try. In my book anyway.

Won't be too bad, just wait until somebody develops a plastic hot water cylinder out of recycled car tires. Now there's an opening!

if your fitting a stainless stan bear in mind you cant use it on gravity, fully pumped only

merchants near me is doing stainless vented 36 x 18 cylinder (rm aquastel) for £50 less than a copper one and it has a 10 year guarantee.

will be going on fully pumped ,at the moment there is gravity hot water with pumped ch ,but will be converting in to fully pumped ch and hw ,with s plan inaction ,

THANKS TO YOU ALL

I fitted my first stainless steel cylinder on Friday. Much better strength to it than copper and the fittings came pre-assembled to the cylinder, eliminating the risk of annoying leaks we've all had when filling these things up. Won't be fitting copper cylinders again if I stainless steel ones stay as cheap as they are.

im doing a cylinder tues day was going to use ss but they come with 22mm connectors and i need inch
my merchants ss cyls are much cheaper

one of my customers has spec'd a ss for an empty property that has had its copper cylinder and a bunch of pipework stolen. never fit one before tho.

gonna be a nightmare tracing pipes!
