Hi
I am about to replace a leaking solvent weld fitting. I had to cut the old fitting of the pipe. After I removed the fitting I noticed some damage on the pipe. I can't cut off the damaged pipe end. I would like to know if I put plenty of solvent (glue) on the pipe and on the fitting, will I get a water tight fitting?

Thanks sasi

Might providing there is enough to go full depth in socket and the pipe is clean. Have you got any pvc pipe cleaner, if you have clean it up with that, before you put the cement on and join it up. Brush the cement around the pipe end, but up and down in the socket, then join with a twisting motion to ensure cement is evenly dispersed on all contact surfaces.
Its a lot to say but easy to do. Hope it works for you.

Also make sure you are using the right cement for the pipe and fitting.
