deburring gas pipes?

When working under the supervision of a gas engineer in my training I never saw anyone deburring pipes when installing a gas pipe. Though through reading my viper book it says you should as it can effect the flow of gas getting to the appliance. I have started doing it at the moment. Do people find it really necessary?

I would keep doing it as the lip causes turbulence and bits could break off and end up fouling the line further up.

Do you not debur all pipework as standard practice???

have you not heard of velocity erosion or ever come across pinhole leaks?

copper thesedays wont last 15 years if you don't debur your pipework. trust me!

deburring is ideal, in reallity it dont get done alot of the time. on gas if the pipesizing is on the limit its def very important.
