Hi guys,

Did a landlords safety certificate on an Ideal mexico last week, everything was fine. A couple of days later though the customer could smell gas so called out southern gas. He detected a couple of leaks on his sniffer (it passed let by/tightness etc on LLC). It was all in steel pipe so rather than mess about undoing it all and redoing it, we decided to just do a brand new run from the meter to the boiler in Copper.

I completed this today but could not get it to light, It did light at first but then went out and hasn't lit since.

Any ideas??
Thanks

Has the supply been fully purged?
Or
Could be a bit of carp in the pilot injector.

Gotta say that it seems a bit odd that the TT was ok then the custard smells gas.
Was there a permissible drop on the carcass that suddenly became noticeable?

Is there muck from the old steel pipe stuck behind the gas valve inlet

southern gas have capped it downstream and not said anything

they tend to do things as helpfull as that

Perhaps I didn't fully purge it. Will check all the other suggestions tomorrow, luckily it's in the kitchen of a hairdressers so it's not affecting anyone tonight, I have to go back and drop the keys off tomorrow so will get there extra early.

It is strange that it passed tightness then couple days later it's leaking but thankfully no harm done. First thing southern gas guy said to me was "don't worry it's nothing you've done" phew!

When you purge the pipe, you've also got to purge the gas valve. It can take a minute or two, just keep your finger pressed down. Listen for the flow of gas as well, it'll light.

Pilot injector full of steel wool from that new gas supply...
