Hello, .
I have a kingfisher boiler and a separate iflo (drayton) wireless heating system.
Recently the water has stopped heating up in isolation and will only heat up if the central heating is on. Previously I could heat water through the boiler without the heating being on i.e during summer months when I do not require heating but still require hot water.
I’m not too sure why the water is now only heating when the heating is switched on.
I have a Drayton Iflo SCR digistat wireless system and a separate kingfisher boiler.
Thank you

You need a motorised valve

Thank you Tam,
This is very helpful but where can i get one of thes evales and how are they to be fitted?
Would I need a specialist boiler blumber and if I get a boiler service would this valve be covered in any costs?
Thank you - this is most hepflul :29:

Thank you - where can i get one of thes evalves and can I fit this myself?
also, would it be a good idea for me to locate the value in or next to my boiler to see if there is antyhing wrong with this?......

Thank you for this - what is the approximate cost of this to be repaired parts and labour?
I have had quotes over £200 and over £300 - is this about right?
Should i go with a local plumber or a national comany like BG?
Many thanks as I have no idea aout these things

...how do I know the difference between a 2 port and 3 port valve?
I’m not too sure which mine is – is it simply a valve with 2 ways as oppose to 3 or is it more complicated than this? My boiler (kingfisher potterton) is separate from by heating system – i do not have a combi – my unit is in an airing cupboard – ive read about levers and wires and stuff that are on these valves – what should I be looking for in terms of identifying which valve I have and what I need to purchase?
I really want to arm myself with information so I avoid being ‘ripped off’.
Thank you J :8:
