I've had a request from a customer to fit a taller toilet. (Pan level is taller, similar to Doc M Pack)

They also specified it have a flush handle rather than push button flush.

Has anyone ever supplied one of these & where did you purchase it from?

can you not put a plinth under the toilet? and you can specify from your merch that you need a disabled freindly cistern flush

They don't want a plinth. Toilet would be going on a pre-existing tiled floor.

i hear what you are saying just for ref though, i did work on a LA social housing and we were fitting fiberglass white plinths. anyway thats off tangent!

That's interesting. So were they shaped the same as the bottom of the pan or just a squared cube for it the sit on?

There's plenty of raised pan toilets about, but I think you'll struggle at getting a matching cistern with a flush handle. Most are of the push button type.

TomLane - they were shaped like the bottom of the pan was, finished in gloss white, they looked alright to be honest.

thanks for the linky anz, yes they are ok tbh and thats the spit of what i have been fitting to disabled loos!

Several of the sanitaryware manufacturers make a disabled (raised) pan with a flush handle. [DLMURL="http://www.lecico.co.uk/products.php?type=cat&cat=8&pid=62"]Lecico for example[/DLMURL]

Our basic Lantac approved DOC M pack has a large paddle handle (much easier to flush than a piddly button) - although I think it might be cheaper to buy the whole kit and throw away the other bits than to just buy the pan and cistern.

Ray do yo do postal order? would it be poss for you to send me a catalogue?

Never seen the plinths before. Quite a neat idea.

I have seen the cisterns around with the larger flush handle on them. The customer specifically asked for the large handle as they were struggling with pushing the button their existing cistern & felt that they would be able to use their elbow to push the lever with more ease. The issue with the height is due to decreased mobility in their back & knees.

yeah i must have fitted about 200 of these things, varying between different heights. they do make quite a difference and work out cheaper than buying specialist raised pans, so for a Housing authority on a budget it made perfect sense! and when fitted in a finished bathroom they dont look out of place

Spooky, you or were to be my next port of contact.

As promised (I think it was) Ian from the Fareham branch called me last week, many thanks for that. Unfortunately my phone didn't save the email address for some reason & I can't remember his surname.

one for Ray, do you supply disabled baths with step in doors, I need one around 1700 x 700-800, with a built in seat lift that will allow the custard to lie down properly in her bath but lift her out as well. Plus they want a wc with built in bum flush, they currently have bolt on versions everywhere. Having looked online all I can find is supply and fit companies and no prices.

I would fit a new wc you can get a dot m pack on ebay for around £200.

I've had twenty or so of Rays DOC M packed WC's and they are good value when they are half the cost of other suppliers......the only thing that you might want to replace will be the seat........

Has ray been testing his products again? :toilet:

Hi lameplumber

We do get them from time to time, but your best bet may be to go to one of the specialists like Nicholls and Clarke, talk through with your client about exactly what they want, and then come to us or your local independent for a price once you have an exact model in mind. There are many specialist products in this area as you probably know, although I think it may be tricky to get the ability to lie down in the bath, and have the lift system, all in those dimensions.

The closomat price quoted higher up the thread looks about right - its a while since I last saw one, but I don't expect you will find much price variation - no merchant is going to buy these in bulk, and most will put a pretty thin margin on it.
