Hi Guys,

Having a bit of a prob with our dishwasher.

It's not cleaning very well and there is oil in the salt tank. (Seal possibly)

Has any one had this before and what work is involed resolving this problem. The Diswasher is a CDA WC420 slimline.

Regards,

Daniel.

If it was me with this I'd try the manufacturers. Plumbers tend to know about water in/waste out but not what goes on in between!

Good call. I have called and they are sending an engineer out on Monday just wanted to see if i could get a bit of knowledge before he turned up.

thanks for the reply.

Regards,

Daniel.

I've repaired dish-washers.
It's difficult to see how oil could appear in the salt tank.
If it's not cleaning well, it could be a number of things:
Is the heater working ?
I assume you are putting correct amounts of the correct type of dish-washer liquid in the right place.
Also - Are you using a correct type of rinse-aid to break the surface-tension for streak-free drying.
You're obviously using salt as a water-softener.

It could be that the recirculating pump is not working.
You should be able to hear it swooshing while running.
Are the rotating arms free to move ?
Sometimes the rotating arms or the feed pipes get blocked.
Are the filters (usually more than one) at the bottom clear ?

It could be that a build-up of greasy residues looks like oil in your salt container.

You are not going to get oil in the dish washer unless placed there maybe by mistake an olive oil pot has been placed in, pots will not get very clean as the oil will neutralize the detergent degreaser that should be cleaning items
Clean out as much of the oil by hand and the do a few empty runs with extra detergent
:)

as puddle ses there no oil in a dishwasher so if youve got oil its something youve put in

Thanks for the help guys. You say that there is no oil in a dishwasher and i am not saying your wrong but would the pump or motor that runs the dishwasher not have oil to lube any moving parts? I will try and get as much out as possible and give it a few empty runs.

Thanks again everybody.
