The diverter valve on my Worcester 20/25 stuck down a few months ago resulting in my radiators getting red hot even when the stat was not calling for heat. I managed to free the valve however 2 months later I had the same issue, inspection of the valve showed it to be free moving and returning to the up position via its spring. Im confused as to what position the valve has to be stuck to cause this problem.
What position should the diverter valve pin be in to call for heat, up or down??
What state would a failed motor head on the valve leave the heating system in, can the motor head jam causing the valve to be permanently set to CH without the valve itself being faulty.
HONEYWELL VC4613 by the way.
