My house heating system was completely renewed 2 years ago
and at the core is a Potterton Promax combi condensing boiler.
Because the integral seal in the diverter valve was leaking, it was
replaced yesterday by a heating tech appointed by my insurance
company. This has cured the month old leak BUT now I find that
the hot tap water takes ages to reach only warm and while waiting
for hot water the radiators get warm instead of the tap water, even
when the roomstat is not calling for radiator heat.
The diverter valve assembly was not changed - only the screw-in
cylindrical cartridge/insert which appeared identical to the old one.
Obviously, I will have to call the repair company back out to diagnose
and fix the problem but would be interested in any comments/suggestions
from your expertise. I dont see this to be anything to do with the
electrics and think it must be the valve insert not correctly aligned
with the ports?
