A

Andy Cripps

Got a downstairs bathroom which is the width of the old coal shed that it used to be. I'm reducing to just a toilet along the outside wall of the old coal shed with the window in. Toilet will be part stud part brick walled off. The old toilet was one of the old large avacado still from the 80's and modern ones so much smaller.

The SV is badly sited, question is have I got to move it or can i fix toilet in somehow?

Any advice much appreciated.

hi andy you should be all right with the soil where it is. have you bought your new toilet yet? if not i would get a s-trap pan not a p-trap

The old toilet was with your back to the window with two 45 elbows linking the waste trap. The new toilet will be situated so your left arm could rest on the window ledge with back to the wall. P trap won't work in this instance, I've bought a angled flexi connector and will reuse a 45 angle coming out the ground. What is the minimum width for a downstairs loo?

I went for a wickes portman at £49.
