Which connects to supply pipes via compresson rather than those offset threaded tail connector pieces?

Replacing a shower and want to use original supply pipes in cavity which might be fiddly with usual bar mixer shower connections.

There are plenty of mixer showers with compression type connections but they all seem to be 3 times the price of bog-standard bar mixers.

Why dont you get them shower fixing kits that have compression inlet and normal shower connections on the outlets and they screw back to the wall......seen them on fleabay for under 20 quid.....then any cheap mixer should fit

existing pipe centres are 130mm and those kits need 150mm. found a bar mixer that can accomodate 130mm but excludes use of one of those kits. to be honest i was just being hopeful, it's not all that hard, just a bit more faffy.

right - now i've said that i'm doomed.

If you get the bristan fixing kit, there 2 seprate fixings so the fixing kit dosen't determine the pipe centers, just got to find a shower with 130 centers!! I use the bristan fixings all the time as fixing bar mixer on stud walls are a nightmare but they screew though from the front, tighten up with an olive and leve you with 3/4 male fitting to fit shower too.
hope this is of some help!!
