Saw this the other day, I can't imagine what the installers pipework looks like inside!

I would try and work the flue around the soil pipe, not the other way around...

Not always possible, if boiler has to fit in a cupboard or something. Also got loads of room to move the rain water pipe, you practically never have that kind of scope for boiler positioning. I would near enough always look to re-route the rainwater pipe, 4 45 degree bends would make it look alot better than it does now. Also 4 rainwater 45's cost next to nothing, 1 elbow and an extension for a flue costs alot.
 
I see what you mean, but if it was possible then I would, fair enough if its plastic downpipes but not so much cast, plus its an eye-sore with 2 offsets on a downpipe which should be veritcally running down lol
