Hi

I keep getting those pesky tiny drain flies in my toilet/bathroom (also in kitchen) They are not coming from the bath plughole (plug is in)...or overflow (taped over). Behind the toilet pan where the pan inserts into the pan connector pipe there is a small 5mm gap which I think is normal. My question is could the flies be coming through this gap?...although there is no smell, drips or leak here. As a precaution can i seal this circular gap with sealant or duck tape..OR is this gap there for a reason???...i.e. for venting purposes???...any advice please is appreciated...regards...Dimmy

Drain flies, sewer flies or fruit flies however you know them as.

I think you may have a leak , take the bath panel off and have a "ganders"

Don`t think they like hot soapy water, often found in old un-serviced macerators in the summer.

I went to a job a few years ago and this old guy was inststant there was a leak under the bath because these little flys where in his bathroom , TBH I didnt believe him but took the bath panel off and it was **** wet through lol lol never forgotton it
