Drain Smell from Toilet

I have just had a new bathroom installed and there is a drain smell that now comes from the new toilet. The plumber has checked the pan connector, etc and can't find why the smell is there. Has anyone any ideas?

Is the water forming a seal in the pan or is there an airgap?

Is there another waste pipe to be connected (e.g. the basin or bath?)

Is there a shower and if so, when was it last used, as the water can evaporate from the waste trap thereby losing the seal.

Just some thoughts.

you should not have one of these if its a new suite,but.
is there an over-flow connected to drain in the cistern lid?.
this will chuck out a pong.
also if there is an open waste pipe cut of and still connected to drains.

The water seal in the pan seems fine.

No, it is an internal overflow and there aren't any waste pipes left unconnected.

I've got a job with the same problem. Didyou ever find the cause?

I think the problem may be fluctuations within the soil pipe or main sewers.
The pipework is all boxed in and a new AAV fitted in theloft so difficult to find/eliminate the cause.
