Hi guys, new to the forum so forgive my ignorance. I recently got a plumber in to repace my bath, toilet and wash hand basin. I removed the bath completely and replaced the electric shower with a walk in shower which is not electric and has a pump fitted being fed from my hot water storage tank ( i think). The problem I have is the plumber wont return my calls and i am having a problem with the drainage. If i have a shower the shower tray fills up with water and is very slow to drain. The wash hand basin without the stopper will stay full for a good 40 mins. All fittings are new and i dont know what i should b looking at first. I was thinking maybe a blockage somewhere but if all fittings r new would this be unlikely? Thanks in advance for any help...jim

First thought is a drain blockage but if none apparent, you might need an air admittance valve/Dergo (or however you spell it).

The draining water might be causing a vacuum which is preventing it from draining. Is this happening to the loo as well? This valve, when sited correctly, will prevent the vacuum.

Was there a problem previously with the old bath and sink?

Did you see any of the work going on?

Has the shower waste and basin waste been linked together perhaps into the old bath?

Are there new joins in the soil stack?

Sorry about all the ?'s Can you lift a couple of floor boards and have a look?

Have you checked for blockages? Maybe he's using the old waste and left a piece of debris down the waste.....

no problems with old sink and bath. i didnt see the work going on. Regarding shower waste and basin waste. will have to check if any new joins on the soil stack. will have a look and post back tomorrow....thanks
