Hi guys, I'm a plumbing apprentice and asked to change a rad for a friend, I'm competent with doing all of it just a problem I might have that I noticed when sizing it. There's one drain off on a radiator valve which is higher than the two pipes I will be moving involving soldering. Obviously I know it's nearly impossible to solder with water in the pipes so any suggestions? The guy said something about an engineer running the pump for a bit to clear it but that didn't seem right or good for the pump but is this something that can be done? It is a wb combi boiler. Thnks :)

That engineer was a tool.

get a cheap wetvac, will be the best investment you make for the moment.
and buy a few 15mm and 22mm push fit stop caps to keep in your pocket.

Post up an introduction, where your based and what your learning and use the forum as it will be a great tool in your learning experience.

it has been in mine!

buy a spare drain off incase that one leaks and you need to replace/cannibalise for bits btw.
