Draining down / pipe freezing tips

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any hints or tips on Draining down systems or using pipe freezing kit?

A mate of mine was discussing plugging feed and vent pipe the other day, unfortunately I didnt get to hear the whole story and thought I would ask here? any information is really appreciated.

a really good freeze machine. absolutely no water movement. use the proper waiting times.
dont get too drain down much.
