just wondering if i drain the water from all the rads on a system with a boiler and unvented cylinder, will i still be able to get hot water from the taps without using immersion, as if i drain the secondaries for the radiators will it drain the primarys to the coil inside the cylinder,
also just another question say i was to drain the central heating system on a combi, would i be able to get hot water, or would i have to fill it up to get hot, thanks

cheers

Are you a plumber plumber89? Reason I ask is because your question points to limited knowledge of system design ... No offence :)

If you drain down the primary system then you have no means of heating anything unless it's from another source :)

no im not , im trying to find an apreticeship at moment, but i do odd jobs with a family member now and then whos a plumber, i wanted to check out on here instead of asking him as he woulod call me a nooob! bit like u lot haha

Ask then ask again and if your still not sure ask again. It may take you 2/3 time to get it but as long as you get there in the end.

Never be afraid to ask even if your called a nooob! its the only way to understand,

What if next time its piped differently or it looks like something is missing, ask then say but it wasn't like this before why?

haha cheers guys i often just watch him and pretend i know what hes doing haha! cheers

It'll take a lifetime to learn anything like that mate, I will ask question til whoever I'm working with goes red and then I keep asking.

You know when your asking the right questions because you'll be told,

''I'll have to look that one up''

OR

''I'll have to draw that for you, ask me again later, now go and get my tea''
