Hi guys, this should be a straight forward yes no answer i think, lol,i am removing a rad whilst i get some plastering done,my combi is a little gloworm, all i want to know is, if it is ok to leave boiler switched on so i still get hot water, didnt cover this on 6129,in fact i beginning to wonder whether i have just wasted a year of my life in college doing the 6129 lol,i am 99% sure it is ok but just need a little help from the pro"s...cheers ste b...........

if there is enough play in the pipework and the rads will lift of the brackets why not just loosen the nuts of slightly then lift of brackets and lay rad down.

Judging by your Header your planning to drain the system. You dont need to drain the system to remove a rad, just shut of both valves and remove the rad, you'll get a bit of spillage but get your thumbs over the tails and carry it outside to empty, if its a big rad get a mate to help.

Cheers guys, nick h i would do that but i really dont wanna risk damaging the carpet, but cheers,i will note that one, pauls i would also do what you say but like you say if there is enuff play it would be possible but as it stands i would more than lightly damage the pipe (10mm),still cant get my head round capping these trv"s but thats the one i had in mind, cheers fellas, have a good week.........

This is one of many many things that was rubbish with my course. 7K i payed and wasnt shown how to take off a rad when its fitted to a system, how to drain down, fit a toilet ' PROPERLY' etc etc.

when you are taking rad off remember to turn combi boiler off,as in power supply, then if anything goes wrong, which I am sure it will not,the boiler is safe, when you have removed rad and all ok check pressure and then turn back on,likewisw when you come to refit rad
