Good afternoon gents,

i'd just like to start by saying i'm not a plumber, but have a problem.
i own a food outlet and had blocked drains, so i got some rods to sort the problem.
i now have no problem with blocked drians but have a realy bad smell coming thorugh the drain cover.
its a bit like rotton eggs, tried bleech and lots of water but it's not helping, the more water that i put down the more the smell seems to come out, if you know what i mean.
any advice on what to put down there??

Many thanks

Stu

Try caustic soda plus more water (carefully -- read the warnings!). The alkaline caustic soda should dissolve grease and proteins, which are probably responsible for the rotten egg smell (hydrogen sulphide). The caustic should also combine with any hydrogen sulphide to produce a non-smelly compound that will rinse away.

Anyway, give it a try!
