Can anyone please advise? With a Drayton TVR4, is the setting range completely variable and does not have to be set on a number/click position?
Thanks...

I wouldn't take too much notice of the numbers in relation to the temperature. Set it to what you're happy with. The trv will adapt to keep the room at a constant temperature. This can mean the rad being cooler as the temperature is reached.

Why do you want to set to a position between click points? The correct point to provide the required room temperature can only be found by trial and error as each room is unique. This is the reason why Drayton no longer publish number-temperature information just that "1 to max = approx 10ºC to 30ºC"

I suspect that the click points ("troughs") are provided so the head is held in a fixed position that the springs and expanding liquid filled sensor can work against. If you set the stat to a peak, instead of a trough, the pressure of the spring/sensor will just push it into the nearest trough.
