Drayton UP2 Dual Channel Programmer - CH not working

Hi all - I just moved into a new house with a Drayton UP2 Dual Channel Programmer for CH and water. The hot water works fine, but no matter whether i switch the CH to boost or just On there is no heating... I can hear the boiler fire up when I boost or switch on the water, but nothing with CH. The boiler is Worcester Bosch and was installed less than 12 months ago. Any ideas?

the boiler works, so it is a control issue.
should be an easy fix.

Im having exactly the same issue in a home just moved into.
Water is fine, but cannot get the heating working in any way that makes sense - timed function doesnt seem to produce heat at all, On function does sometimes.

Absolute beginner when it comes to stuff like this so any "dummy guide to.." type help would be greatly appreciated.
