Hi, looking for some advice,
I live in an old Victorian terrace not sure how old the plumbing is. When we moved in we connected the washer and dishwasher into the cold water supply using the existing plastic y connector. A few months ago the connector started leaking so I bought a new one from homebase, coincidentally it was crap and I ended up using the old connector with the new connectors washers. This worked for a while but then started leaking again. Unable to get to the hardware store for a few days I decided to remove the y connector and just connect the washer straight in for time being, however thus leaks too. As does the dishwasher hose when connected singly into pipe work. So I am thinking the connection at the pipe is a problem is there anything I can do to clean up the end? Is this a common problem couldn't see anything when. Googling!

Thanks for for your help!
