I did put a thread up earlier about fitting rads for 18pound each on price. I snubbed it, turns out i went back with agency on day rate. On my day rate i would of already earned a grand this week already and its only thrusday. On monday i am going on price but its First fix 500 a flat.

It is district heating, connect to manifold. Hep into the bathroom (which is through the wall in the cupboard). 2 heps poked through to kitchen. Piece of ****. I got a picture of the bathroom but not the heating. Bathrooms are easy aswell.

Il show you the bathroom with pic so you got an idea. 10363828_10152048462135373_5122291247643166981_n.jpg

Nice work when you can get it.

In 20 years time you will come back on the forum grumbling about the good old days being long gone -

<puts on yorkshire accent>

"When I were a lad thee could mek a grand a week, monday to thursday on 't sites in London, so thee could lad..."

</accent off>

Ahh so your on Watkins then. That village is huge drove through a couple of weeks ago can't believe how much it's changed. I worked on the contract disconnecting washing machines for the removals before they pulled it down.

Heard bad bad things about kidbrook no radios hard hat and gloves at all times. Is it still Steve crease's site?

Funny you said that we were doing £1000 a week in Leeds 10 years ago,on the massive high rise student accommodation behind the Yorkshire armouries, ''ahhh those were the days''

we were earning that on price 20 years ago thats how long its taken to catch up

£1000 Monday - Thursday = £1250 per full week, which would put you in the top 10% of earners in the UK.

You are now officially rich. You must vote Tory, drive a BMW and fiddle your taxes. Thats how it works. :)

And if you were earning that 20 years ago, and I don't dispute it, because I know of some plumbers who were, then you were earning more than the Prime Minister. John Major's salary as both MP and first lord of the treasury (Prime Minister to you and me) was £57018 gross of tax in 1994.

Haha yea your bang on the money mate. Two of me mates got red carded for leaving a carton on drink on the landing. They r hot on there, gloves yh but i cut me fingers out they r ok with that. On day rate they are making me do near enoth 3 flats a week so i might aswell be on price.

They want their pound of flesh! I know a few blokes who refused to go there after South Norwood and have ended up at either Bromley or Charlton sites but Charlton is much the same I've heard. Glad to be away from it to be honest.

If you go on price make it clear you want the opportunity to put anything right before you get a contra charge if not you won't be paying it! They are the worst firm for paying back retention.

Years ago someone pinched bath handle from a finished plot I'd done no one told me and I was sent a £65 bill for someone else having to fit 1 handle! Not the only example there are many more like it.

Once i have done the flat i am going to get someone from watkins to walk round and sign it off. Once it is signed of if they try charge me anything il show em the signed paperwork and tell em to do one.

Lol, thing is thou boys they sacked about 5 because they were to slow. So i would of earned 1250 this week on price for the amount they made me do, not just me but a couple other lads also. This whilst having to run round fixing other people's mistakes all day long.

Then the company who gives the sub's the jobs walk round and say all the meters are in the wrong place change every single one lol. So screw all that I am on price as of monday i am not touching anyone else's work. They need day workers like us but there is no point them making you graft so much that you would of trebled your wage and staying on day rate pointless.

I will take you up on that advise thanks Rob.

Normally keep day rate / snagging for the old timers !!! Happy flyer is on day rate!

Never done price work.... probably no bad thing as I'd be on £50 a week ;)

You're not missing anything. Done loads of first fix flats but £125 each with soils, lagging and testing. £500, we get £340 for a 3 storey with unvented and zoned heating, bathroom, shower room, cloakroom, 14 rads, 5 bedrooms. That includes a sxxt soil run, under the floor and all wastes through double an triple joists.
