went to a house last nite and there hot water cylinder for economy 7 is leaking so it told them it needs replaced, all well and good

rang the suppiliers this morning there got a price for a new economy 7 cylinder 42x18 for 142+vat all well and good

my only question is, the previous immersions on the old cylinder are brazed in, so can i put just standard immersions on the new one or do they have to be for economy 7??
may be a stupid question but dont know.

let me know thanks

Standard immersions are ok for economy seven, but would always fit incaloy immersions as they last longer and are more suited for economy seven use.

what the different between incoloy immersions compared to the copper immersions??

thanks for your reply and advice

They are exactly the same apart for the elements and possibly thermostat housing,the ones made with incoloy are a lot more resistant to corrosion in adverse conditions,even on a normal bottom side entry immersion heater,I always fit incoloy one's

imho

Well I say always,there was that job in ............................. ;)
