Electric connection to new Gas Boler

Hi All

Have been told you cant wire a boiler onto a 3pin plug with correct fuse fitted,has to be into a fused switch.
Would have thought plug would be acceptable as when uplugged the disconnection is complete and makes testing a little easier.

The reason given for fused switch is you cant accidentally disconnect boiler by unplugging!!!!!!!

Any thoughts anyone?

I was of the impression that only a suitably qualifed spark car do a spur. And any old muggle can do a plug top

It can go onto a plug as long as its plugged into an un-switched socket.

Not a question of installing a spur,but connecting to an existing available socket adjacent to boiler and controls.
Meaning changing socket outlet to a fused switch for what reason?

The fused, switched spur should be double pole switching.

So when the switch is off then both live and neutral are
disconnect from the appliance.

Switched sockets usually isolate only the live so could potentially
carry live currents to the appliance when you think it is switched
off.

With an unswitched socket the plug must be withdrawn to make
appliance safe.

I think you have exactly the same chance
