hmmm, it sounds a bit of a bodge.

A tap on the electric shopwer would be restitive and if the shower is turned on before the tap is opened then the PRD will pop and you will need to pay for a new one.

I would get another plumber in to quote

yes thats what i said but he said you can use a vented tap on the unit and it can be left on then he started getting a bit angry that i questioned him the shower unit is a heatstore aqua espirt and it does say the outlet acts as a vent and must not be connected to any form of tap that is not recommended by the supplier so can this be connected to a vented tap ???

Refer him to eBay for cheap plumber?

I'm afraid I can't be bothered with people like that. I don't go to a solicitor then tell him/her how to do the job - I go and say what I'd like done and expect them to know what can be and can't be done and advise me accordingly.

If you have showers are already installed ,you could connect the shower up to a basin tap,via shower hose,if you open tap up fully and cut off spindle and just put tap head cover on for show

Than the hot water on and off can be through the shower unit, along with flow adjustment,as normal and tap is in fact just turned into a outlet point as the shower head would have been

This would allow shower unit to be operated and used correctly with any over run also operational

Get a Redring powerstream. It is designed for the job.

Here is a link
Redring Powerstream Instantaneous Water Heaters

Sorry to bump such an old post, but what's the difference between the ones tamz linked to and these electricalcounter.co.uk/products/Water+Heating+%26+Cooling/Flow+Boilers redring powerstreams?

They are totally different things.
A powerstream is an instantaneous water heater made to supply hot water to 1 or 2 taps. Much like an electric shower with a flow switch.
A powerstream ascari is an electric boiler. A lump of cast iron with a couple of electric elements, a few contactors, and a pump and expansion vessel.
