Just got to express my dismay (& let off steam) at those people at City & Guilds who's idea of questions to test 3rd year's are that they should be able to answer these little darlings.
An electrical fire can be caused by a line earth fault not being cleared. The most likely cause of this happening is?
HSE GS 38, requires all test leads to be fused. The fuse rating should be?
& one of my particular favourites (as they won't have done any gas yet)
A flame rectification device is tested using a microammeter connected in series with its output cables. The expected current reading for a steady flame condition should be ?
O & there are lots, lots more of them all written by a plumber ? (I think not) Is it small wonder then that some of them are taking the on-line exam for the 5th time. This is at a time when they are handing out 6129 to 8 week plums. I just makes me mad at just how far apart the two levels are.
