expired dom natural gas safety

Hi All just a quick one , i have a citb certificate in domestic natural gas safety which ran out in 2003 i did have a photo id card with it but cant find that now , can anyone tell me if that would have been for the core ccn1 or acops as we used to call it ?? all help much appriciated Cheers Colin x

It could be be an Acs or an Acops. Acops finished around 1998 but as the cert lasted 5 years it could be one or the other.??

Looking through all my old certs, my cert from 1998 was a citb one, it lists all the elements I i did. I would assume yours will be the same. Which appliances are listed on it?

well thats the thing all i did at that time was the dom natural gas safety, all the ones beneath that i didnt do, so what i was trying to sort out is if i wanted to now do the boilers , cookers and water heaters would i have to start from scratch again ?? like i was new to gas ? all help gratefully accepted .

check with the training centre to plan to use for your assessment, it is likely you would be classed as a Category 2 candidate as long as you can show a cert or something to PROVE you have did gas before, it wont matter whether it is ACOPS or ACS, technically you can pay for assessment only, but if you dont mind me saying, it would probably be a waste of your cash, as you would be unlikely to pass, given the time passed you would benefit from training before you went for assessment, you will be req'd to do CCN1 (core safety) CEN1 (for boilers) and as you are doing boilers you must also do CPA1 (combustion analysis)
