customer on the phone now , saying everytime she turns one stat up in the house on a ufh system the lighting trips , would i be right thinking that this stat is faulty and needs replacing or would it be the actuator on the manifold?
thanks

Pump or stat or actuator and on the wrong circuit

could you tell me whats the best way to find this out , had one faulty pump ona a open vent boiler cause the same problem this morning , i just dissconected the pump and turned heating on , boiler and electric stayed on so i knew it was the pump, any way of doing the same here? thanks

Yes. Exactly that. Unplug and plug back in bit by bit

thanks simon , she only tells me it only happens when one paticulat stat is turned up , am i right in thinking this cuts the pump away from the problem???

turns out it was the red "light" on the room stat that weent off as she turned one up, aI went there, no live coming in to none of the room stat, but every motorised valve and clock and pump were getting a live . above the ufh manifold there was a pcb fo the underfloor heating, a 4a fast blow glass fuse had blown in it, i replaced this after going to 9.... yes 9!!! diferent electrical merchants to find one! job done ! all working fine , and i didnt replace a room stat and its still working 3 days on!!

i hope you left a few spare inside the panel or around the area

i hide fuses in the most weird of places, just incase i ever go back

or as a nice treat for the next engineer

I do exactly the same thing with mi's.....

i do the same with filling loops so the next engineer cant find'em

ever spent ages looking for a filling loop only to eventually find it in the loft, that was me
ever have to take the washing machine completely out, me again
or behind the kitchen and you have to dismantle the kitchen units, classic
