Hi all

My name is Dan I would really appreciate it if anyone on this forum can assist with an issue I am experiencing with my Ferroli Domina 80e combi boiler. I'm in rented accommodation.

The HW seems to operate properly, although sometimes another hot tap needs to be on slightly for the HW to stay on otherwise after a couple of minutes the boiler goes off, this is not a major issue but it maybe related to the CH issues.

The CH itself sometimes works as you would expect and other times the radiators just get luke warm. The boiler may fire up but goes off after a few seconds (maximum of 20) or sometimes it fires up and immediately goes off and at other times it does not fire up at all, but a rapid clicking can be heard.

The best way to get the CH on seems to be to run a shower and normally after this the boiler will come on for an extended time.

When off the pressure is around 1 Bar, it was below this when I moved in but I used the filling loop to increase the pressure. The maximum pressure I have seen on the boiler is 2 bar.

It has a digital clock on the front even when this is switched to 'continuous' the boiler switches as in the 'auto' mode.

Is there anything I (layman) can test?

Thanks in advance for your help and assistance.

Dan

Why do you have to get quotes for landlord ? its his boiler, up to him to sort it out, big mistake removeing cover if not gas safe ,landlord could blaim you for messing with boiler. Leave well alone and get landlord to sort it out, not your problem.

:welcome: to the forum dan ... As said this is not your issue really as your landlord is obliged to repair! Regards anything you can do? Not likely as it sounds gas burner/ignition related ... As a GSR engineer I wouldn't entertain 'just' giving you a quote to repair & would exepect some call out to diagnose :)
