Hi

I wonder if anyone can advise me about this problem.
The hot water stopped working on our boiler. Ferroli replaced the diverting valve which gave us some hot water but only luke warm. They came a second time, adjusted a few settings and said it was fine. It wasn't, still only luke warm unless you ran a tap very slowly.
When you run a tap the CH flow pipe gets hotter than the DHW outlet pipe, which to me means heat is escaping into the central heating. I explained this to ferroli who came back, and again, replaced the diverting valve. Still we have the same problem, luke warm DHW.
The central heating side is working fine.
Any ideas?

Well from what you have described then my first thought would be the diverter valve, but if this has been changed then the next thing I would look at would be the plate to plate heat exchanger as it may be blocked.

How old is the boiler? Shocking that Ferroli can't fix there own boiler!

The boiler is 18 months old. The ferroli enginer said everything checked out fine, meaning pressures and sensors.
Are ferroli a troublesome boiler and should I invest in another make or persevere with this one?

Fitted around 6 optimax's 31c 2 years ago, had probs with 5. 1 of them was missing a surclip and a part blew off and flooded the boiler. Others weren't as serious. But the customer service is the worst i've seen. One customer ended taking out BG cover...... On a boiler with a 5 year warranty!?!?!? Says it all really. If it sonly 18 months old prob better persevere with it

ferrolis(sadly for you)are rubbish TBH though really sounds like you have a dirty system and if your flow pipes getting hot on DHW (technical terms dumping down) your plate heat exchangers blocked with corrosion either replace this or get/and a system clean or replace it with a BAXI DUOTEC (a very reliable boiler) and get the system cleaned

dont think they best i have two, but to be fair have only had trouble with one where had to change expansion vessle in ten years some of the design layouts not great for workin on tho
