I have just had one of the Ferroli Modena 32HE systems fitted in a house I am currently doing up.

When I am not at the property I have it running only on frost protection mode and when I get there I turn it on to get some heat in the property.

The problem is it doesn't seem to get up to temperature correctly. All you see on the LCD is a small flame and the icon for central heating. It just idles around the 45 temperature mark not really getting any hotter.

When I put the boiler in to engineer mode which makes it run at 80%. It gets up to temperature in about 15 min then idles at 80 temperature mark with the small flame which I believe to be correct.

My understanding is the small flame is to keep the boiler at temp but when the heating is first requested it should get up to temperature faster than it is.

Has anyone installed one of these new type of boilers and had a similar issue?

On a side note there seems to be a lot of twitching on the pressure dial while the boiler is running. I have read this could be down to air in the system and I should bleed my rads, Which I have done but this could just take a few runs for the system to settle down.

Thanks,
Rob

welcome to the forum Rob.
if its just been fitted what does the installer say about it?

Still waiting to hear back from him.
He was a friend who did it on a weekend and as im not at the house all the time its not that urgent.
He is phoning Feroli to ask them about it and they will probably send out an engineer to look at it in case its a faulty sensor.

I just figured Id ask on here in case anyone else has come across the issue. I cant see it being a faulty sensor as it runs right up to temperature in engineer mode.

might want to check the central heating temp is set a 70 to make it work correctly. Ferrollis are not good if the installer doesnt ensure the pump has been purged of air and the air in the rest of the system removed, it can cause the flow switch and other parts to fail quite quickly, however that issue is fairly obvious! and if you arent getting fault codes its more likely the heating side needs setting up iaw the mfis

the installer needs to read the mfis or they are easy to wreck on commisioning, steam in the hex etc

Fitted a few of these ,the feature is a low burner start to protect the heat exchanger it fires up on low flame for 15-20 mins to protect the heat exchanger then goes to full flame.
