hi all :waving: i have a customer claiming the heating comes on,, on its own!!
i have changed the time clock and its still doing it :banghead: so she says!!!
any ideas ?????????? maybe the pc board

I'd isolate all external controls cloud! The boiler hex is double tubed, the pump doesn't come on for hot water so there's no way the heating can IMHO :)

Is it the integral one? If so the switch on them gets doddgy! no click to let you know you're in the right position :)

Can you not put the control to hot water only on these?

erm yes u can turn the heating stat on the boiler right down to the summer setting, and that
does the same job

Disconnect the mother! and see if the complaint's the same? if not then get a new timer .... ! If it is then that'll be interesting to sort out imho :) They're double expensive but I'm sure Euroboilers do a cheaper version!

i have already fitted a new time clock!!!!! and it was still the same

Try turning the heating flow or return iso off under the boiler and see what the reaction is? If the boiler has a pump overrun then there's a chance that there'll be some residue heat pushed into the rads, otherwise they're some obscure demand for heat being generated somewhere!!! IMO

thats why am thinking its the mother board

I'd have to take a look at the mi's to see if there's a pump overrun. One would cause symptoms you describe to a degree but would not cause the heating to "come on", it'd be on always you'd think?

thats why am thinking its the mother board

Not ruling it out cloud but it's unusual for a demand for heat to be 'created' from a circuit board IMHO .. not ruling it out, just very strange!

Hi Cloud,
I have exactly the same problem with our Modena 80e. Did you ever resolve your problem in the end?
I have replaced the original timer with a programmable room stat and the problem seemed to go away for a while, but has now come back. The heating stays on all the time, even when there is no demand requirement from the stat. And sometimes the boiler will not produce hot water - especially in the mornings.
On the basis that the boiler is functioning normally in every other way, I can only assume it is a problem with the PCB, tell the boiler to do the wrong thing.
Thanks,
Guy
