I have one these boilers which, like many I suspect, I wish I'd never bought.

So I have had in the past had the dreaded recurring A03 fault that which I seem to have partially fixed by turning down the heating temp to 80 deg.

Now though I get no hot water at all. The boiler doesn't seem to respond to the tap running and there are no fault codes on the display.

I'm guessing the flow meter is faulty, so I tried to order a new one and I can't source one anywhere. I phoned lots of plumbers merchants who list them and no one has got stock and they tell me they have lots of people after them and Ferroli have no stock either.

Thing is, I'm not completely convinced the flow meter is at fault, there is just nothing to go wrong in it. Its a hall effect sensor and when I took it off to have a look, I blew though it and the turbine spins free.

The other thing that's a bit odd is that on comfort mode, the heating should maintain the internal tank at 55 deg and it doesn't fire up in response to the dhw temp sensor.

When I turn the boiler off at the mains and then switch back on, it does heat the internal chamber up to temp and it it keeps heating the dhw heat running if I have the tap running but only on a low burn. Once I turn the tap off it get up to temp and then no further responses if I run off the remaining hot water. This seems to rule out diverter valve problems.

So I guess its either the PCB or the flow meter, has anyone had any experience of fixing this problem by replacing the flow meter?

Update-I got a new flow meter Ferroli part No 39820450 from ebay for £35, 1/2 to fit and fixed the problem.

You can check if this is going to fix the problem without fitting it by disconnecting the plug from the old meter and plugging it into the new one. Blowing through the valve will spin the turbine and activate the burner.
