Ferroli Optimax He Plus 38C Burner Removal

Hi,
Can anyone help me regards removal of the burner on a Ferroli Optimax HE Plus 38C, as the M.I. are nothing short than useless. After removing the fan, I expected the burner just to lift out, but with some resistance, however this burner was stuck in solid, and would not budge, after further inspection I noticed that under the main seal there was a black silicone based substance. I am not sure if this is meant to be here or someone has used a high temp silicone sealent, to help achieve a seal. As it is a Sunday on a Bank Holiday weekend, I did not want to force the burner off, and end up damaging both burner and seals. I have attached a pic for you too see.

With these you have to put high temperature silicone in all corners, I think they've gone a bit overboard with the silicone though. Just get a flat head in and prise it up gently. New seals required when removed, and remember the blob of high temperature silicone in each corner

Also, check the fan gasket, I've had a few leaking gas. Changed the seal and it was still leaking. Ended up having to put an additional screw in there - stupid design!

as above but also check the insulation panels under the red gasket they can collapse and kill the boiler much like they do on the icos
