Hi all was wondering if some of you could help, been to look at a job today and just wanted some help with a few things.
1 can you cut a existing cast soil pipe about a foot above ground and put a plastic connector for new plastic soil stack?
2 has anyone ever removed a ray burn and is it straight forward/ do I need heats to remove it, it's being ripped out?
3 it's a large house but only having a shower for some reason so is a logic plus 30kw combi good for the heating side as its a large house 4 large bedrooms and having 8 rads 1 towel warmer in total.
Thanks for any replies I appreciate them, ive just got to go back in the morning and wanted to be a little prepared for some of these things that I wasn't 100% on.
many thanks Martyn.

1. Yes you can correct way hirer set of jones cutters & buy a CI boss pipe to what ever size waste you need + 2No 100mm coupling, cut pipe slip on rubbers insert boss pipe pull down rubbers & aline put on couplings & bolt up. Job done.
2. Do not understand why would you need heat to remove it but its already out ?
3. If you need to size the existing heating load of the house, to allow you to size the boiler correctly, can I suggest you take a look at the following link it will allow it to be professionally worked out not guessed at & it is FREE.
Domestic heating sizing method (2010 edition) / Heating systems / Housing professionals / Publications / Home (United Kingdom) - Energy Saving Trust

Thanks mate sorry I menu hetas as it is a grey area for me rayburns

What kind of rayburn? You may just need a hammer and chisel or a few bits of MI and a hearty breakfast depending what you mean.

I don't no about hetas so I wondered weather like with a gas boiler you decommission that a solid fuel appliance would need procedures, I'm probably just over thinking but I like to sleep at night unlike the cowboys.

Whatever type of rayburn you are on about the procedures are
Make sure the fire is out
Make sure it is empty of water
Rip it out
Sell it on ebay if you can be bothered

Be carfull if its a very old rayburn , think they contain a lot of asbestos !!

It will become apparent when you die a slow painful death

You'll know in about 40 years.
Look up the model. Ropes and seals if. Not a problem if you follow the correct procedures. Just don't start smashing it up.
