Hi folks. Doing my first job soon installing 2x new drains and new inspection chamber. Anyone able to tell me where is the best place to buy the back-fill material and exactly what one they buy? I am aware of the building regs requirements but want to make sure I buy the right product due to my lack of experience in this area :)

Many thanks.

Should be pea shingle underneath and on top of pipe not sure how deep, and builders merchants should drop you of bulk bags of shingle for back fill

If pipe dia between. 100 and 225mm should be 10mm pipe bedding . 150 below above and either side . Above that either type one compacted in 300mm layers or selected backfill.

If it's on to ex or a common sewer it's the Bylaws chap from water co.

I get the impression it's a private sewer up to the main road. I couldn't get the inspection chamber cover off as the screws had seized on properly.
