fited a new inlet valve and now a leak!

HI All

fited a new Fluidmaster pro for the toilet due to slow refilling however i have a leak but not from what i did i think

it seems to be coming from the plastic joint just abovr the water supply tap

is there a quick fix?

call a plumber before you get a bigger leak, cheaper in the long term.

Don't think there's a shortcut here mate. Sorry to hear it's leaking. Doesn't sound like it was your fault. Just bad luck.

Maybe, isolate. Remove and change the part for new. Or call a plumber...and let them do it! Prob cost you £45 in labour, no biggy.

Welcome to plumbing. Touch it and it leaks. If I change a flush valve for a customer on anything other than a new looking toilet and they want a fixed price, that price will include replacing everything because half the time that's what you end up having to do.

I agree I usually change the washers in ball valves rather than replace to much grief otherwise. If I have to remove a cistern I change the lot close couple kit, doughnut, flush valve & syphon. Costs minimum £75 ex vat takes less than an hour good value for money. Rusty nuts usually add about £20 to the job.
