Hi folks,

Purchased E1486AA Ideal Standard Luxury pop up bath waste and overflow as recommended to fit Ideal Standard Tempo Arc straight bath 1700 x 700.

Website advises it will fit both a 52mm and 44mm overflow hole but the chrome spacer is 52mm and as such won't fit through the 44mm hole to connect to the overflow face?

Instructions are of no help, just not sure how it can possibly be universal. I know it's only cosmetic as it will still function but just wanted to check I'm not missing something obvious.

Any advice much appreciated.

Strange that it says 44 / 52 at the bottom of the page, when the drawing shows the waste diameter through the hole at 52

It is strange that there is no mention of the E1486AA being suitable for either a 44mm hole, or the tempo bath, in the Ideal Standard blurb, though there is by everyone selling it!
Presumably it is possible to assemble the overflow on a 44mm bath by leaving out the spacer, but there are then no lugs to clip the inner and outer parts together.
In the absence of the spacer, does item 4 have any sort of location feature/moulding on it to keep the assembly centralised in a 44mm hole?

It should "work" without the spacer, as there will still be the seal on the outside of the bath, but nothing to stop the assembled item slipping down the bath, out of alignment with the hole🤔?
