I think i Know the anwser already but thought id check and seek advice. Im fitting a pedestal basin in en suite. The water pipes come up through the tiled floor. when i Offer the new pedestal up to wall the pipes prevent this by approx 20mm. There is a big lug on the inside of the pedestal which is concealled. If i could trim this i would gain the required room. I realise the pedestal is fragile but is there any way or method to trim this. thanks for advice.

No. It won't sit properly. It is designed that way for a reason.

Do it properly and alter the pipes! It may be possible to enlarge the holes the pipes are in (careful!) and push the pipes back a bit.
