Hi, I bought a new mixer shower. Was hoping to just swap the old bar for the new... never that easy though. The original pipes are only projecting past the tiles roughly 25mm. They are those z type fittings to adjust to 150mm centre. I reckon if I can extend these by 10mm I can get enough thread into the bar to avoid leaks. I was looking at these but unsure if they need a washer between it and the piece I want to extend from? I’ll also attach a pic of what I’m extending.

I have tried this option, but the chrome escutcheons are still too deep 26mm. The lowest profile I can find are the ones I already have for the existing shower. Which I would need to cut 5mm out off to use.

Please buy yourself a new tape measure in that case, the ones I’ve advised you to buy are 17mm - which is why I told you about them.
Your problem is common and I’ve sussed this one out for you.

If 17mm that’s perfect, I haven’t purchased or seen them. The measurement I got is from the website from other people’s questions about the product. See piccy, assuming I’m looking at the correct item? If this is the correct product then I think it’s a winner and much rather use these than add extra fitting that potentially fail. Do you know if these are the ones, if so I’ll order them for pickup 1st thing in the morning.

Your picture is blurry.
However I physically measured the item, I have 4 sets in my cupboard, the item number is 8669H and they measure 17mm.
Excellent, that’s the same model from the picture thanks for checking the measurements. I’ll take a punt on them tomorrow they have loads in stock. if They don’t work I’ll try the Bristan kit somebody else mentioned.
