Help,
my son has a fairly recent one of the above and when his local GSR engineer came to do the annual service one of the FOUR allen screws which hold the glass front in place (which is, also of course, a seal) just turn when trying to screw it out (or indeed, in) which indicates that the 'nut' welded to the inside of the fire box has separated. there is absolutely no way that we can get at this nut without, in our opinion, breaking the glass front and removing the fire completely from the recess.
has anybody come across this problem before and have any suggestions how we can resolve it?
because we can't re-tighten the bolt we can't make the seal and so the fire is EXTREMELY dangerous to use. the GSR guy did isolate the gas line to prevent it being used.
