Hi there, hoping one of you guys can help.

I stay in a flat in Edinburgh on the top (5th) floor. The flats were built about 10 years ago.

I've been here for couple of years with no problems with the water, but a few week ago, the water pressure in the flat started going funny. The pressure constantly goes up and down from all the taps. It's worst in the shower which now goes from boiling hot to too cold every 10 seconds or so. There is a pump like machine in the ground floor which goes on and off all the time. I've asked the management company to investigate, but they don't seem to be getting anywhere.

Can anyone suggest what might be causing this?

Thanks

Anna

most likely issue with booster pump set downstairs. As lame says above, needs to be seen and investigated onsite. Your management company and / or the plumber they employ don't seem like much use

Erratic changes in pressure sounds like expansion vessel gone faulty or lost its charge, or pressure switch diff knackered. As d lads above said get management company to get a decent plumber out.
All d best
