Can anybody tell me what the maximum ratio reading should be for natural gas on a combi boiler and why this is? Thanks guys

What ever it says in the manufactures instructions, and because they said so

Well readings can vary from one manufacturer to the next, they state what the boiler ratios should be. There are British Standards which give action levels but these are covered in your gas books.

Ok mate thanks. Is the analyser basically testing for products that should not be there?

Well its testing for things that should be and shouldn't be there, its all dependent on what your using your analyser for.

Am sorry mate but am just abit rusty at the min and a dont want to do anything wrong. What is it am i stating on the gas cert, its the ratio isnt it. can you tell i got rushed through my CPA1?

Is this a wind up? I'm not saying I know everything, far from it. But there are some things like this which are basic and if your be passed your cpa1 you should know.

You may be best going on a refresher course , if you do not understand the readings and there relevance then IMHO your operating very dangerously

I was waiting for the mouth piece. Its not a case of not knowing or i would never of passed, i am just confirming. I ahve been to afghanistan since then.

Ok you tell us your interpretation and well tell you wether your right or wrong

ps how was the weather

Tbf I feel for you Liam, I got rushed through my cpa1 as part of my level 3 so get where you're coming from

Basically we need to know that the correct products are getting burnt and the bad ones and being rid of. We will get a reading from the analyser and we need to make sure the reading is or below the one specified by the manufactorers instructions. The weather was great.

Not trying to be a idiot but which reading do you think it is that you need to put down. What gas books do you have? Viper gas,CITB, BPEC, NIC EIC books?

Bpec mate but i am away at the minute thats why i am on here to try and find answers.

Liam, have you a gsr number yet? The reason you're getting vague answers is because we try to protect the public from killing itself. If you have a gsr number and increase your post count over 10 we can discuss this in the privacy of the batcave!

ive got every sympathy for you cpa1 is a waste of time i was hopping to learn how to use the many features on a fga all you really get is a print out of the action levels and the chance to use a different machine i would say it was probably the most useless training day ive been on whats even more galling is its now part of something else which ill have to sit just over a year after i took it

Yes i do mate and i appreciate that. As soon as am home i will send it to the correct person. Thanks very much

If you can remember either of your numbers send it via pm to Redsaw or Gasman and you'll be granted access to the inner sanctum.
