Hi, guy im having troulbe understanding the manufactures instruction which i,m currently
trying to use to help me to get though the CPA1, the paper work i have is very easy to get my head around with figures like 0.004 b4 service and 0.008 after service for example. What ive been reading in the centre test paper work i can,t relate to the manufactures instruction. Click below to ethos 36c 54c instruction page numbers listed
If any one is familiar with using a flue gas analyser on this boiler i could really use your help thanks.

page 19 Programme number J2: Max. CH heat output (fan speed during CH mode)

natural gas Propane
page 24 CO2 min. heat input (%) 8,3(+/-0,3)* 10,1(+/-0,3)*
what dose this mean * measured without jacket

CO2 is measured both with the combustion cover on or off so 2 readings are given as the oxygen level will be different whether cover is on or off so the reading should be different

Sorry Kirk but in this case the two different numbers are for Gas and LPG if you look at the page number on the link.

Basically what the MI is asking you to check is the CO% must be 8.3% plus/minus 0.3 with the case off. So your looking for a reading of anwhere from 8.0%-8.6% on a natural gas model. Always remember to keep an eye on the CO ppm as well, and the ratio, just to ensure nothing alarming is going on.

The first bit that you posted about on page 19 of MI just talkings about setting the output of the boiler in CH mode. The combi will use its 36kw/54kw or full output to generate hot water but you may only have a demand of say 16kw for heating load. An because on an appliance with a zero governer the speed of the fan proportionally controls the output of the boiler. So the faster the fan the higher the output. It saying you can limit the speed of the fan/output in CH mode to make the most of the boilers efficiency.

am i going mad or are you missing a zero off your readings 0.0004 and 0.0008 not as you have stated 0.004, and 0.008,please put me out of my misery

hi there when you go to a he boiler before you use your flue gas analyser do a gas rate on the boiler first you will no if all is ok before you use your flue gas analyser

Hi there the readings are for carbon dioxide [ 8.3% ] when burning natural gas. Not a ratio reading.
I think ' plucky' meant co2 not co.
