Removed old Rayburn 3 years ago, wife bought a gas stove, cast iron open flue jobbie to finish room as looking to sell house. Brick chimney all ok and clean smoke pellet with extractor running standing on one leg ........ I was going to install closer plate with soot plate and simply fit flue into in with say 500 projection . Mi said ok for masonry..... On closer inspection asking for it to be lined. Out walking dogs so don't have books but why would it need lining? ID it was dfe would be fine if it was any other fire be fine so what's the deal with stove? Just don't want to fit liner next weekend !

I do have fires and stoves tickets never use them tho as sell on fires to fire shop..

stick an electric one in, cheaper if your selling, and re reason for flue, coz mfis say so :), not sure but better draught/poc removal

Mi's take precedence? It asks for it then thats what you have to do, ring them up and see?
